After Pool Accident: Ellie -1080-
Ellie is taken to the emergency room after a pool accident where she got her hand stuck in the drain. Despite several minutes underwater, she was still conscious, but the doctors don't know if she has water in her lungs. They immediately start monitoring her breathing and heart rate with stethoscopes, then apply EKG electrodes to her chest. The tests begin. The girl's heart begins to show signs of instability, until Ellie spits out the water in her lungs and her heart gives out, going into cardiac arrest. Her swimsuit is torn and CPR begins alternating with AMBU bagging. After a few shocks from the defibrillator, Ellie recovers. But the situation is not under control and her heart goes into fibrillation again. More CPR, more shocks from the defibrillator, the Guedel tube is inserted to preserve the airway. Ellie recovers a third time before having another crisis. Resuscitation continues, chest compressions alternate with AMBU bagging and defibrillator shocks. After numerous attempts the girl recovers.
